- The spine is double-hinged to open flat, allowing unhindered access to the contents
- The design incorporates a dust trap around the entire opening, including the top and bottom spine areas, to make this case virtually dust- and light-proof when closed
- The cabinet-made wood-frame construction is extremely rugged, able to take years and years of heavy institutional use
- The wood used is low-resin basswood, the safest possible material for print case construction
- The top and bottom panels have a core of solid binders board (not a pasted composite board). This stable and rigid material also provides a humidity buffer to help stabilize the interior environment through any humidity swings in the storage room.
