Solander cases from Opus – setting the standard for archival protection of your prints, drawings, photographs and other works on paper.
- They provide an acid-free environment away from dust and light for safest archival storage, yet portable to the worktable for safest access and handling
- The spine is double-hinged to open flat, allowing unhindered access to the contents
- The design incorporates a dust trap around the entire opening, including the top and bottom spine areas, to make this case virtually dust- and light-proof when closed
- The cabinet-made wood-frame construction is extremely rugged, able to take years and years of heavy institutional use
- The wood used is low-resin basswood, the safest possible material for print case construction
- The top and bottom panels have a core of solid binders board (not a pasted composite board). This stable and rigid material also provides a humidity buffer to help stabilize the interior environment through any humidity swings in the storage room.
- The exterior is covered in a coated moisture-resistant cotton-based material, for wipeability and to resist liquid spills
- The interior is lined with cover-weight acid-free paper stock
